Jorge's Experience with WorkBC to find his dream job

Job Search with WorkBC

Before going to WorkBC I was unemployed, and looking for a job for a period of 5 months.

Since moving to Canada in 2013, I had been working in survival jobs in order to make ends meet, as a Carpenter, Helper and Labourer.

I faced many challenges trying to find a job, because many of them asked me to have experience in the field I was applying for, they also asked me to have studies in that field of work.

I decided to apply for WorkBC services, because a friend told me about this organization, that it provides employment services such as job search, training.

WorkBC Centre Newton helped me in many aspects, both work and personal; they gave me tools to start my job, and also through which enhanced my inter-personal communication abilities.

I am happy to share that I currently have a job.

I’d like to thank WorkBC and Leena, for the opportunity and the support they gave me throughout my learning process.

Thank you WorkBC, for giving me the opportunity to train in an area wherein I can help others, and contribute a little of what I have learned to new Immigrants.
