Reignited passion for success! - Amanpreet

Reignited passion. Success. Transformative Journey

My name is Amanpreet. Originally from India, I spent several years living in Italy before making the bold decision to relocate to Canada in 2019. However, upon my arrival, I faced the daunting challenge of unemployment and sought support to navigate the Canadian job market. Even though I recently received my permanent residency, I have only worked with temporary agencies for a few months, but on small contracts.

One of the major challenges I encountered was the disparity in qualifications and experience between my previous ventures and the Canadian standards. Additionally, I realized that I needed to do my best and improve my English by attending classes.

Fortunately, amidst my search for assistance, I stumbled upon WorkBC Centre Newton through online research. Little did I know that this discovery would mark the beginning of a transformative journey towards professional fulfillment.

WorkBC Centre Newton proved to be the guiding light. They recognized my potential and provided invaluable support by enrolling me in a program tailored to help newcomers like myself gain Canadian qualifications and relevant skills. This program not only equipped me with the necessary tools but also reignited my passion for my background profession.

Currently, I have transitioned from unemployment to working as a Settlement Counsellor—a role that allows me to utilize my skills and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Reflecting on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the unwavering support I received from WorkBC Centre Newton. My case manager has been a remarkable individual, who has helped me throughout this journey step by step. Their dedication and encouragement empowered me to overcome obstacles and achieve success.

As I continue to embark on this exciting chapter of my life, I am reminded of the profound impact of support and guidance that I received. To WorkBC Centre Newton and my dedicated case manager, thank you for believing in me and helping me turn my aspirations into reality.
